Student's flag design travels to Antarctica

As part of a geography competition organised by Miss Hill, students were tasks to design a flag for Antarctica, to be used as part of the UK Polar Network scheme. From all the entries, Year 8 student Layton .P was selected as the winner for his impressive digital art and has received an email back from the scientists in Antarctica with an image of his flag there with the penguins.

The photograph was taken at Kinnes Cove in the Antarctic Peninsular (Latitude -56.4831, Longitude -62.2989) featuring Research Associate Jasmine Lee, who is part of the Penguin Watch Team.

This is such an amazing achievement for Layton as not many people can say that something that they have designed has actually been to this amazing continent!
