Joseph: a Technicolor sensation!
After three stunning performances and a matinée to a local primary school, our production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat wrapped this week!
Thank you to everyone that came to see the shows and support our fabulous cast. It was amazing to see so many staff and students in the audience; it means the world to our cast.
The show would not have been possible without our production team. Brilliantly directed and choreographed by Mrs Callaghan and Mrs Street. Technical direction from Mr Brunink and Sound Engineering from Mr Armstrong and Mr Cheatle. This show has been a labour of love all year, and we are so pleased with the results.
Mrs Callaghan, Head of Dance & Drama had this to say:
“The three performances of Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat last week demonstrated a high level of commitment, enthusiasm and professionalism. There were outstanding performances from the cast, and I am incredibly proud to be part of the process. I always choose our shows with the talent I have in front of me, and I feel that this year has proven that this is the right way to go! I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Mrs Bennett, the Senior Leadership Team and our Governors who have made this year's production FREE TO SEE! It gives the whole College community the opportunity to celebrate the talents of our amazing students. Whilst I will miss this show, I am already planning the next one and I hope that you will 'Consider Yourself At Home' in our audience again next year. My thanks to all the people who came to watch and supported us throughout this process.”
But with all our shows and productions, the real magic comes from our outstanding students, some of whom have never performed onstage before. Every singer, dancer and performer brought their A-game and did not disappoint.
This also extends to our volunteers running the show backstage in the wings with props, costumes, sets, lights, and sounds. Our backstage and technical crew, which was made up of students and some of our ex-year 11s, all did an amazing job.
The show was really a team-effort, and we couldn’t be prouder as a College.
