Year 7 explore Hampton Court Palace

This week, forty very excited Year 7 students travelled to London to visit Hampton Court Palace – the magnificent setting for the public dramas and private lives of Henry VIII, his six wives, and the Tudor court.
Students took part in two engaging activities during the day. First, they were led on a guided tour by a member of staff dressed as a Tudor aristocrat, who brought the history of the palace to life. Through vivid storytelling, they explained the complex family history of Henry VIII and the key moments that shaped the Tudor dynasty.
Students then explored the site further through a self-guided tour, equipped with headsets that helped them navigate and understand important areas of the palace. Highlights included the vast Tudor kitchens, the Great Hall and other iconic spaces that revealed what everyday life at court would have been like.
After our tours, it was time to enjoy our lunch outside in the sun, while exploring the stunning grounds and gardens.
Throughout the day, our students behaved brilliantly and showed great curiosity as they learnt more about one of the most fascinating periods in British history.
A thoroughly enjoyable and worthwhile experience that has helped prepare our students for the upcoming Tudor segments in their History lessons.
