Students take part in STEM Kahoot and Havant Rotary competition

STEM Kahoot

The latest house competition, the STEM Kahoot, brought together students from Romsey, Arundel, Goodwood and Petworth for an exciting test of knowledge across all areas of science, technology, engineering and maths. Teams battled through a series of challenging and engaging questions, showcasing not only their understanding but also their teamwork and quick thinking.

The atmosphere was competitive throughout, with each house putting in a strong performance. However, it was Petworth who ultimately came out on top, demonstrating impressive consistency and depth of knowledge to secure the win.

This event marked the fifth STEM house competition of the year and was perfectly timed to take place during British Science Week, adding an extra layer of significance and celebration to the occasion.

Havant Rotary Trip

A group of eight Year 8 students recently represented the school at the Havant Rotary STEM competition, held at HTC School, where they competed against other local schools in an exciting engineering challenge. Their task was to design and build a battery-powered car capable of travelling through a drain pipe, combining both speed and accuracy.

The competition required students to apply a range of STEM skills, from problem-solving and design to teamwork and practical construction. Throughout the day, the teams showed great determination and creativity as they tested and refined their ideas.

Although they did not come away with the top prize, the students had a thoroughly enjoyable experience and spoke positively about how the challenge helped them to develop their STEM knowledge and skills. It was a valuable opportunity to learn, collaborate and take on a real-world engineering problem.
