Employer Information
Supporting our Careers Programme: Information for Employers
Many of our initiatives focus on employers providing insights and practical support to students by connecting with them in the learning environment. In this way, employers can highlight the range of employment opportunities available to them within their industry and highlight the necessary skills, aptitudes and attitudes employers across a range of different sectors expect from potential candidates. More information can be viewed in our Provider Access Statement.
Ways employers can get involved
Offer workplace visits: Give students the chance to experience your working environment and learn about different roles within your organisation.
Deliver careers talks or assemblies: Share your career journey and insight into your industry to broaden students’ horizons. Our visitors cover a range of topics, including what a typical working day might look like, the academic qualifications and soft skills they look for in potential employees, and routes into their sector, including apprenticeships.
Host students on work experience: Host placements for students to develop real-world skills and gain a taste of working life.
Participate in our careers events: e.g. Careers Fairs and Employer Networking Events: Join our events to connect directly with students and answer their questions about your sector.
Support mock interviews: Help students build confidence and interview skills by offering practice sessions and constructive feedback.
Mentoring and skills workshops: Lead sessions on employability skills, apprenticeships, CV writing, or sector-specific skills to prepare students for their next steps.
Sponsorship: Equipment or resources a company no longer needs that could be used in our construction and engineering departments.
How to get involved
We welcome employers from all sectors and of all sizes. Whether you can spare an hour for a careers talk or wish to offer ongoing support, your involvement is valued.
Please contact our Careers Lead Mrs Donna Martín (Donna.Martin@crookhorn.hants.sch.uk) to discuss how you or your organisation can participate.
