Curriculum

At Crookhorn we have designed our curriculum to allow our students to become resilient and independent learners.

We achieve this by offering a broad and balanced curriculum across a two-week timetable for all year groups and allowing students to make options choices at the end of years 8 and 9. Further information about the Options process can be found on our Year 8 & 9 Options page.

Alterations to the Curriculum structure for 2020/2021

Cohort 21 (Year 11)

In order to minimise the impact of the disruption to learning that this cohort of students will have had in the run-up to their GCSEs in the Summer of 2021 this year group of students were asked to choose 2 out of the 3 GCSE options subjects they had remaining to study to the final exam. This follows the award of their first ‘early entry GCSE’ in the summer of Year 10. By dropping one subject they will have extra curriculum time given to their two remaining option subjects and their core subject of maths.

All other Cohorts (Years 7 to 10)

Curriculum structure remains the same as outlined.
